Formula and assumptions
EU MRV covers CO₂ (since 2018) plus CH₄ and N₂O (added for 2024 reporting onwards). Reports are verified by an accredited verifier, submitted to the administering authority via the European Commission's THETIS-MRV system, and feed into EU ETS liability and FuelEU Maritime compliance-balance calculations.
