Norway NOx Fund Levy
Ships operating in Norwegian waters that are members of the NOx Agreement pay a fund levy per kilogram of NOx - lower than the statutory NOx tax. Fund members access grants for NOx-reduction technology.

Formula and assumptions
The NOx Fund (Næringslivets NOx-fond) administers a voluntary industry agreement covering shipping, fishing, offshore, and land-based sources. Members pay a lower levy to the Fund, which grants the pooled money back to members for NOx-reduction projects (SCR retrofits, shore power). Non-members pay the statutory Norwegian NOx tax at a higher rate.
