SOLAS V Reg 23.3 requires a combination arrangement when the boarding height exceeds 9 m. Pilot ladder spreader steps every 9 steps or within 1.8 m of waterline. IMO Resolution A.1045(27) mandates certified pilot ladder manufacturer markings.
