Controlled venting (P/V valves + breather)
Formula, assumptions, and limits
Open venting → simple pipe to free air. Controlled → P/V valve for fuel-oil-type cargoes. Closed → separate inert gas supply + flame arrester. IBC Ch. 17 designates per cargo.
