Class A transmits at 12.5 W every 2-10 s. Class B 2 W every 30 s. SOLAS V Reg. 19.2.4 requires Class A for cargo ≥ 300 GT on international voyage and ≥ 500 GT on domestic voyage; all passenger ships regardless of size.
